The Gold Standard Gecko Club competition, held in Daytona, Florida on August 16–17, is a premier showcase celebrating the finest geckos from top breeders across the country. Hosted during the renowned National Reptile Breeders’ Expo, this event draws enthusiasts, collectors, and judges to evaluate exceptional animals on criteria such as health, color, pattern, structure, and overall presentation. Competitors vie for prestigious titles and recognition within the reptile community, while attendees enjoy an up-close look at some of the most stunning and well-bred geckos in the world. The competition not only highlights breeding excellence but also fosters education, networking, and a shared passion for these remarkable reptiles.Each Breeder will get up to 3 different entries with no more than 2 per category.BreedersBreeders must have produced the gecko they are entering in the competition. Breeders competing shall remain anonymous until the end of the competition. Breeders must provide accurate and complete information about the gecko's genetics, lineage and breeding history. Offspring from a 1st generation line breeding will NOT be allowed to enter the competition. Breeders must follow all applicable laws and regulations related to the breeding, transport and sale of geckos in their country of residence. Breeders must respect the judges decisions and must not attempt to influence or interfere with the judging process in any way. Breeders must maintain a respectful and professional demeanor at all times, and must not engage in any behavior that could be considered disruptive or disrespectful to other participants, judges, guests or event organizers. Failure to follow these rules may be subject to disqualification and may be prohibited from participating in future events. Breeders can enter up to 3 different geckos per event or one gecko in 3 different categories. Each category however cannot have more than 2 geckos from said breeder.GeckosGeckos entered in the competition must be at least 18 months old and weigh at least 40 grams with tail and 35 grams with no tail. Only geckos of +45 grams with tail and +40 grams with no tail will receive the full point for body structure by the judges. Gecko entered must not be in shed otherwise it will be deemed unjudgeable. Geckos must be entered into the corresponding category and no more than 3 categories per event.
